CentOS Stream testing

How the CentOS Stream/RHEL kernel is tested across src-git, dist-git, and release

The CentOS Stream and RHEL kernel is tested in three major phases as changes flow from development to customers. Each phase has different triggers, actors, and expectations.

High-level pipeline: src-git, dist-git, release

Each src-git MR goes through regression and preliminary testing individually. Once merged, MRs are batched into a dist-git MR that undergoes smoke testing against official builds. Successful builds are then released via errata.

src-git

Regression and preliminary testing of kernel merge requests before they can be merged

dist-git

Smoke and tier 1 regression testing of official Brew/Konflux builds in the dist-git MR pipeline

release

Errata advisory creation, compose testing, and shipping to customers
